Best way is finding someone with the UpRev Cipher to read the ECU part number, or call dealer parts department and give them your VIN.

Have mine but it's for a 2006 revup VQ, so not the same ECU pt# for a 2004 non revup.

Dealer call with VIN as suggested above best way. UpRev says to do that way if you have no other resource.

Better AFR's for starters. My 2006 factory AFR's suck big time (lean).

That BS. Call another dealer or ask for parts manager.

I realize this is a thread is almost 10 years old, but what was the case with the part number situations, I understand the outside numbers will not match. How do I tackle this if I don’t know anyone who has the means to read the ecu part number with the computer? Thank you for any help!

The part number is the sticker on the outside of the housing, yes it will match. There were like 20 different ECMs for these cars though so make sure your MEC number matches.

It doesn't need to match EXACTLY, as long as its from the same trim level (engine, trans, cruise control etc) we can just flash it with Uprev and make it work. You'll have to either get reprogrammed at the dealership or have NATS bypassed with Uprev anyways...

Let me know if you need help

That's a great point, plus you wouldn't have to worry about towing the vehicle to the local Nissan dealership to get the ECM programmed. It would probably only be a little more $$ just to get an Uprev tune.
