Buying a G...Need Help!

Hey everyone. I'm new to the forums but have been thinking about buying a G for a while now and have been reading on here for the past few weeks. I'm figured that everyone here might be able to answer some questions about my potential purchase.

First of all, I have found an incredible deal locally. I have found an 07 6mt with only 24k miles for 15k. This price is really too good to pass up but there are some minor issues with the car.

First off when you turn the car on, one of the belts starts squeaking for about 30 seconds or so pretty loudly and then goes away. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem with their car and if it would be expensive to fix.

Also, I noticed that when I cranked the stearing wheel all the way to the right it made a creaking noise.

I called my local infiniti dealership and they said they would inspect the car before I buy it for $40 which to me is well worth it. If anyone else has had any similar problems with their G let me know how you fixed it because I really want this car!

Thanks everyone!

Nah its actually a clean title.

The seller was asking 18500 but I was able to talk him down to 15k. He seems desperate for cash and he is expecting a baby soon which is his reason for selling the car. I guess in this case his loss is my gain.

If it was me I would: carfax, take to body shop to check for any previous body damage or paint jobs (they'll know), also to check over engine and make sure no issues.

Yea its cheap but it can cost you a lot if you buy a lemon.
Yeah thats exactly what I am worried about, but I plan on getting a carfax and a personal inspection from a dealer before I buy it.

The seller said that hes taking it to the dealership to get one of the belts tightened this weekend and said its not a big deal, but I want to be 110% sure before I buy.

Yeah thats right I forgot about the warranty. Does anybody know what the usual terms are for the warrant on an 07?

Sounds like an extremely low price for an 07. With that said, make sure you have the car checked out by an independent shop that you trust. Make sure there is no paint work and the trans is strong. The weak areas on your car are the manual trans and oil consumption. Although these can be covered under warranty, the grief involved is not. All other areas such as window motors, actuators, disc changers, compression rods, etc are covered under warranty. How are the tires? Figure an additional $1,000 for replacement. Good luck. If this is a healthy car, you have got yourself a great buy.

The clean retail on that car is $27k, and the average trade is $22k, according to NADA (not 100% of course). I'd say if he's selling it for cheaper than he could trade, there's a reason why...

He could take it to Carmax and get more than $15k.

the creaking noise when you turn the steering wheel could be just the axle. Might need to be lubed thats all.

Seems like one of those too good to be true deals. I just paid 26k for an 07 premium 6mt with less than 5k miles on it. It was exactly what I wanted and is in flawless, like new condition; So I am happy with what I paid. Now, there are always great deals to be found and you just may have found the deal of the decade on a clean G35. Get it checked out by a professional, or two. It would suck to be stuck with some POS car that needs a new motor because the prior owner had a supercharger and has blown the rings. Get it inspected.
