dead battery + keyhole cover = dilemma
You can pull the back seats down from inside the car.
How? If you have them up and latched properly, the only way to release them is from the trunk, I thought. How do you pull them down from inside without pulling the release in the trunk or not properly putting them up after the last time of having them down?
Just remove the lower half of the seats by pulling up on them hard until they pop out (they're just clipped in, don't worry). Then you should be able to access the red strap that unlatches the seat.
Nifty. My Sentra had 60/40 split folding rear seats, but the release action was more of a direct cable pull from the top of the seats, no way to access the cables to tug on them from in the cab. I had that rear seat out a handful of times and never saw anything like what you say I'd see in the G. Good to know!
I didn't see if anyone mentioned this. But with my aftermarket Ionic dynamics emblemless grille on my sedan I can reach my hand between the grille and open the hood latch and then open my hood. After that just charge battery once hood's open.
