Called my dealer and he told me that he doesn't have a VIN number for me yet. My honest thoughts are that he has sold my car and will have me waiting for another one that was produced in the allocation after mine (my order number is a "C", which I finally found out after numerous calls to Infiniti - the dealer gave me the wrong one.) That is just my gut feeling.

Any one else with a "C" order who has not received a VIN number yet (besides me *sigh*)? I'm in the southeast.

 

I was at my Infiniti dealer last weekend and he didn’t have my VIN number either. They did say it will be an April delivery! Their next shipment of cars is on the 11th. Hopefully mine will be one of them.

I also think that some dealers are reluctant to give the number out so it makes it harder for you to arrange financing. They like that part of the deal to. Just my 2 cents.

 

ps I'm in Chicago.

 

I know, I've had to arrange financing twice now, hopefully it will get here before I have to re-arrange it for a 3rd time.

I'm in Dallas, TX, and I have a "C" order. As of 2 days ago, the dealer doesn't have my VIN number, or that's at least what my saleswoman told me. But, they've told me from the beginning that it WILL be a 3 month wait and it WILL be here by the end of April.

Rambo - this is one thing I don't understand. If they have your VIN (meaning it's through with production), why is it that they're not able to narrow down the delivery to a window smaller than a month?? It seems like this would be a pretty easy thing to determine.

I'm in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. I placed my order on December 5th. My dealer didn't bother to tell me that the order would not be placed until February. I have a C order and was supplied my VIN just this last Tuesday. The car is scheduled for delivery in May - don't know if that means May 1st or 31st!

The dealer was a little surprised that once he gave me the order number that I knew the car had not been ordered until February. He didn't have much to say.

rwjcp...it all depends on how fast the G can swim to the States thats why they cant give an exact date, they gave me an "ETA" -estimated time of arrival of May 7th, but they said that they've been getting them early lately...the dealership gets the VIN# when the car is on the boat...it all depends on the shipping route+tide+wind, gets to LA then trained to Chicago then trucked to Detroit

Best way to get your VIN#
If you have a lazy salesman, tell him that you need your VIN# because you need to shop around for insurance before the car gets here.....hey it worked for me [img]/w3timages/icons/smile.gif[/img]
