drive belt

A quick question. can a slight change of the drive belt can cause the alternator to go bad? The car to have less power?
Does the belt have to run in a perfect straight line??

thx

Only one correct way to put on the belt. As long as all the ribs of the belt is on the pulleys you should be fine with correct tention of course.

Clean out the throttle body a bit. Probably the idle air passage is dirty which will cause it to idle low. NOTHING to do with the belt.

drivebelts should be oem fit, unless you have aftermarket pulleys and or have taken out powersteering and ac.
