New owner saying hi.
Ive been using this forum for a little bit now to help fix various things on my car, but I've neglected to introduce myself...until now.
Hi everybody, my name is Sean and I just picked up a 2004 g35 coupe that just hit 40k miles. Its a black 6spd and I bought it in TX because my step-moms dad owns a few dealerships/salvage shops down there. He recommended this car to me and it was a deal I couldnt pass up. The car itself has a salvage title from a rear end collision, but it has been fixed up to like new condition. I normally avoid salvage titles, but because its family i can trust that it was done right. I paid 12k for the car and it is replacing a 2001 VW jetta 2.0l. Needless to say it feels like it has infinitely more HP and is alot more fun to drive.
I bought the car in TX but I live and go to school here in St Paul MN so I drove it back on new years eve. The car itself has no issues in the engine or transmission that I have experienced yet, but I have replaced one window motor, and the other one needs to be replaced as well. The rear wheels are also completely done and so need to be replaced. I also need to flush the cooling system as the heat only works when im driving, not when im idling...all of these problems amount to minor annoyances, but overall I am very pleased with the car.
I am a pretty frequent contributor to the local sportcompact forum here in MN...(mnsportcompacts.net if any of you are on as well) I look forward to coming to you guys for help and advice in the future, as well as showing off pictures of my baby as i sink more and more of my money into her.
Pictures to come soon.
