StrafeSpeed IGT rear bumper interest thread

******UPDATE 01-07-2010******
Go to page-4 to view the choices we have for a final design. Hopefully the poll will be updated soon to reflect the change of the thread. The post in page 4 details the important info and the reason for a new vote.

Also I lost the content of my original post somehow while I was editing it, so to add to the above. Strafe has decided that the pole results are enough for them to continue pursuing this bumper. Whether it gets made or not depends on a group-buy interest post that will come later. As the post on page 4 mentions, Strafe has decided it wants to combine the Chargespeed 350Z and g35 bumpers into one, so basically snatching the vents in the Z-version and putting them on the G-version.

What needs to be decided now (via voting if the poll gets updated) is which version of the center do we want them to pursue. This comes as a request from them, I'm just helping them put it out there. Basically they want to know if you want the center vent or a traditional diffuser style. Despite the photochops I have provided, the design may vary, so they're just looking for an accepted direction to follow. Just like the front bumper, we will not know what the final version looks like until they decide its ready for public eyes.

*****Update 01-08-2010*****

Strafe wants to move forward with the rear bumper, group buy planning begins now. Add your name to the list below if you're interested in purchasing this bumper or if you're certainly holding your breath for its arrival. FYI, the front bumper is already in motion and should be coming to market in a month or so.

Expect it to be along these lines:

too many variables to be successful.
Strafe cant be profitable if they have to make a different bumber for each exhaust setup.

The vents look odd. They dont really flow with anything. On the VRT they actually flow with the body. On this, they are kind of just there..

they can simply make the exhaust holes a little larger than what you see, also most/all exhaust for the G35 are single tip only unless you get one from Fast Intentions or do a custom job anyway.

It could work if the exhaust part is interchangable.

See how in C's chop in the Update thread, the back of the vents are flat even with the fender flares. In this one they are rounded not flowing with anything. I say use C's vents.

again, blame my photoshop skills. If someone wants to do better, the ingredients are all available via the web to do a better job.

This IS NOT exactly how the bumper will come out, Strafe will have to make provisions and changes to actually make it work with the G35. Photoshop is not 1:1 with the realworld obviously.

I really like the last pic of the red G with the single outlets and smaller vents, then I'd need their trunk lid too....

Oh i know, its cool, I'm trying to work with you. I cleaned it up a little better I think. Also from the rear view Im also fighting perspective changes. I agree that the chargespeed rear vents do look much better than the VRT vents.
