Buying a Used Coupe but still under warantee?
So the deal with the 05 g35 w/14k miles fell through as the dealer never got back to me and i found out the next day it sold that evening for a higher price than i offered. Therefore im back in the market and found a nice prospect im going to look at this weekend. Its a fully loaded 2005 g35 coupe, black exterior on wheat interior. Its a 6spd, i was looking for an automatic because i have a weekend fun project thats a 5spd but i dont mind the 6 spd, how-ever ive heard the 6spd coupe's sometimes have tendency's to consume alot of oil.
Now the car is under warranty for aprox another 8 or 9 months. But does any-1 know what kind of regulations there are on claiming any type of recall issue? I know the warranty transfers to the new owner but do you ofton find yourself fighting the dealer for repairs? Id hate to run into an oil consumption issue while under warranty and still be left out to dry.
Its an 05 coupe, 6spd, 34k miles, 6 year or 70k mile original warranty.
Also, this may be a dumb question but ive searched and i cant find the answer. Is the "rev-up" g35 oil consumption issue with all 6 spd coupe's? Or is there like a S.E of the coupe thats considered the "rev-up" engine? Im a bit confused on the g35 lingo'. Ha, thanks for the info fella's, as usual ill be reading sticky's all night

The oil consumption occurs with many 05-07 6MT cars, but not every single one. Make sure to read this thread very carefully and print out a copy of the TSB and learn it inside and out b/c dealers will try funny stuff to try and trick you to get out of doing repairs.
If the car is an '05, the warranty should be valid until next year b/c it's a 6 yr warranty that starts the day the car is purchased. You shouldn't have any trouble with the warranty as it follows the car not the driver.
