Re: Florida - whata mess!
I am in Miami here, thank GOD that this storm for us has been a dud. Nothing much going on, but I am getting cabin fever. This week has been 2 days getting ready, and the last 2 trapped in this boarded up house, just eating and sleeping when this is all over I would have gained 15 pounds But thats cool as long as my home, family, Z and G are ok

Yea i am in West Broward county and putting the shutters up on my 2 story house was a pain in the ***. getting some rain and steady winds right now and throughout the day but definitely not as bad as it could have been. being couped up in the house is also making me crazy.

Re: Florida - whata mess!
Sustained winds of 40-50 mph all night long. Picking up nearer to 100 mph today. Those winds should last for 6-8 hours in Orange/Seminole county. Unfortunately we will be getting the winds on the North and North East side of the storm.
House is boarded up, chandeler lights are tied down, water is stock piled, everything rechargable is recharged, cars are filled with gas, the A/C is set at 70 degrees (so that when the power goes out it'll be cold for 1 day) and THANK GOD the house is still standing and I still have power.
The news has said that Central FL will probably be w/o gas for up to 2 weeks. That's insane!
Have you ever seen ~20" of rain in 36 hours? They're saying that this storm will RE-DEFINE the 100 year flood plain in Central Florida... and I just realized that I'm wearing my board shorts. Now that's ironic.
Everyone with pools, DRAIN THEM. The news is saying that NO HOMEOWNERS INSURANCE company will cover you if your pool floods and overflows into the house unless your house has structural damage allowing the water to enter. Make sure to drain the pool to a level just above your jets.
The above statements are only my take on the issue. If you disagree with anything I typed then you are 100% right!
