thought about leaving front plate off but cops are hammering tickets lately, got one for CA legal tint and showed receipt of legality to write it off. I think if I left the front plate off id get pulled over for it after drinking 2 beers and get a DUI and feel stupid.

Cops can be real jerks or they can be real nice. Depends on the day you catch them on and their personalities.

One time I was driving with my black hoodie on and got pulled over for tint. The cops checked the inside of my car and asked if I had drugs on me, lol. Then they told me they pulled me over cause of tint, but I had no tint on my subaru at the time...

My friend who drives so slow and so safe in his stock eclipse got pulled over for front license plate. He has the worst luck

dont have one
once got a ticket for no front plate while parked in downtown LA (ticket was just for no front plate, nothing else)
also, when I got pulled for another violation more recently, the cop walked around to the front and saw I didn't have one, and cited me for it on the ticket.
each time i just put it on, take it to a local CHP office, have it checked off, pay the $25, and take it back off. haven't had any other real problems from it though

Pretty stupid not to mount a front plate especially given current circumstances. A no plate stop opens the door to various other violations they can cite you for so don't give them the opportunity to begin with.

My brother was stopped for no front plate in his Evo but the Officer took advantage of the situation and had him pop his hood and off to ref he went.

Dark tint/no plate are rentals, you'll be paying monthly for the privilege.

for the most part if u have no plate mounted in the front of the car it should be affixed to the interior lower part of the window, most cops wont write you a ticket if they can see the plate there.

I don't know where you heard that but it's not true. If it's not mounted on the front bumper you'll get cited. + having a rectangular shuriken on your dashboard in the event of an accident isn't very smart, that's what any Cop will tell you after writing you up.

False.

A friend of mine got a ticket for having his plate placed on passenger side windshield with 2 suction cups.
