window tints

im planning on getting window tints sometime in the next week or so. but i thought of something that could mess them up

when you open and close the door, the window automatically comes up and down a little bit, and since ur not supposed to open or close your window for a few days, wouldnt that mess up the tints and make them peel?

when i got mine done, i just tried to minimize opening and closing the doors the first day or so and they were fine

im pretty sure that the edges cure first, so by the time you get it home it will probably already be ok

i had a problem with this, one week after i got them tinted it started to peel off the passenger window.. i took it back to the place and there was no refund on peeling i got it redone and didnt open the door for about 5 days and then cracked the window about an inch and left it like that for another week. the window is good now and its been about a 2 months

The first few days after I got the tint, I let the car run for about 30 minutes every night with the heat blasting. I'm sure this helped a little.

if your tints mess up just because of that little drop, then you know its a **** poor tint job.

I've had my front windows tinted twice by this local stereo shop (twice because I had to have it removed for a ticket), and never had a problem with it peeling. And I've opened and closed my windows like normal the day after getting them tinted.

i accidentally rolled the window on the way home from the tint place before reading the instructions thing they gave me. probably rolled it up and down at least twice, but i haven't had no problems. besides, the place i went to give a 100% money back warranty against cracking or bubbling

it doesn't matter if you have a good job, bad job, and no you don't need to crawl out the trunk. What you need to do is remove the screw that is underneath the dome light/window actuator that is located on the door jamb. Once removed, the window will no longer roll down upon opening the door.

What kind of tint shop wouldn't fix peeling (especially a week later)? What else does the tint have to do besides staying on the window? That's their job, that's what you paid them to do.. I'd find another tint shop (one that gives warranty on the work you pay for).

Its all in what product they are using and how well the install is. The norm is to wait a couple of days but if that sun is beating on it, you will be ok if the install is good.
