Window problem

So I'm on my way home from work and i have my windows down. Come time to bring them up and my passenger window doesn't move! WTF!

It's friday afternoon and was nervous about a mechanic not being able to see my car.

I called a dealership and told them my problem and they gave me the run around. Hung up the phone call and called another dealer and the person on the phone told me straight out how to roll the window up.

I had to bang on the door while i held the close button, it worked! What a relief. I'm scheduled to go in tomorrow to get a new motor. Car is still under warranted btw. thumbs up to monrovia infiniti.

Rant off.....

Mine does the same thing, I'm out of warranty though. A week ago I auto rolled it down all the way then tried to auto roll it up, and it didn't move. Had to hold the button up to get it to go. Since then I only crack the window if I absolutely have to. I'm going to have to get it fixed when it gets nicer out though. It still works, I'm just worried about frying it since its a notorious problem and has already started..

This has happen to me as well on the driver side, I had to keep hitting the button for it to work. Thx for the DIY link; i'll get on that. Is this a common problem and is a dirty motor usually the cause?

all you have to do is clean where the brushes make contact

Yupper.. Unfortunately, Nissan built a motor that doesn't have vents for the carbon filings to fall out of, so they cake up the motor and it doesn't read the signal well when it's all gunked up. Will eventually happen on both sides.. i've heard of people on their 3rd motor on both sides.. Just happens more frequently, the more you use your windows.. I've been rolling around for months w/ my driver window not working.. too lazy to crack open the door..
