I was back in NJ getting my g serviced at Ray Catena in Edison and I pull out onto Rt. 1 and make the u-turn to head back home...as I come up behind a brand new black Maserati.

I've never seen one before in real life and I really dont know much about them so I figured I'd give it a go haha..we get back onto rt. 1 and I pull up next to him and tell him nice car as he replies back the same. Well, I gunned it but he destroyed me. I was with him for a couple seconds then he jsut took off and that was the last I saw of him. But wow was it worth it, I don't even mind losing...plus my g is completely stock so that didnt help at all..unless clear corners give an extra 35 hp but i'm not sure, the dyno's havent come back yet LOL

A year or 2 ago at the US grand prix, Shumi drove one of those around the track for publicity. They sure do sound nice, kinda a mix between a ferrari scream and a corvette growl.

 

I live in so-cal and have seen quite a few maseratis out here. Was it a spyder (convertible), or the new sedan?? You guys are absolutely right though, they sound like sex in motion.

Ahh that sedan is ridiculous, its like the current M5 in performance maybe even quicker!! Theres this older guy around my block with a maserati coupe and it honestly doesnt do anything for me, it doesnt even sound that great, my cars louder! LOL

I just recently tested the Maserati Spyder from about 60 mph until we hit traffic and broke off... he beat me by about a car length.
I dropped back and snapped a pic but when I had a good look, I have to admit the styling didn't really impress me...

I looked up their specs and the car stock is 385 hp from a 4.2L V8 but it weighs (surprisingly) 3814 lbs.

So even the convertible will beat the G in power to weight ratio -- but for $89,000 it's an expensive way to beat the G...

I tried toying with a Red one while driving my 02 Max on 287 and he toyed back. He never passed me but made it a point to roll up even with me and back off 2-3 times. (basically muscle flexing)
