Noises in my 06 6MT (vids are included)

Hey everyone .. I have recently just started hearing a few noises .. I tried taking a few videos and I have managed to get three sound clips showing the three new noises .. any help would be greatly appreciated .. before I start with the noises, I have had three things happen recently to the car and I just want to make sure I mention them just in case .. I recently had my long block replaced for the OC issue and pinging (I am still in the break in process and only hear a SLIGHT ping still) .. I also recently dropped off my OEM 19's to get powdercoated and was given a set of 17' 350z rims to drive on for the last two weeks (not only is my TPMS light on but I think this has to do with one or more of the noises) .. finally, I installed a K&N drop in filter yesterday and I am now hearing these although I doubt this has anything to do with anything I thought it was worth mentioning

1. This noise only occurs when I accelerate fairly quickly and when I slow down .. I've also noticed it when I'm home parking as I live on a hill and need to do some quick pedal movements .. noise occurs in drive and reverse and the video shows it while I accelerate and then as it's slowing down .. it sounds like two clicks and then two clicks again ..

2. This noise has been bothering me since I've gotten the car .. it doesn't happen often but when it does, it's loud and annoying .. it sounds like loose metal under the car and I know it has everything to do with the clutch but I just need to know if it's normal or not .. I notice the sound when I go slow in 1st and go over bumps that make the car jerk a little causing me to push the clutch in not to stall .. so say the car is moving in first and I push the clutch, it happens .. in the vid I was able to recreate the noise by accelerating and then pushing the clutch at the same time (which is NOT what I do to make it happen any other time btw) I notice it happens SOMETIMES when I'm forced to start out in 1st quickly

3. This is the noise I feel is most associated with the 17' 350z rims being on the car as I've never heard it until recently .. it's pretty self explanatory and it happens between 20-25 and NOT ALL THE TIME ..

Thanks again everyone and I hope someone can help .. I read about clicking noises being Rear Axle spindles and there being a TSB for it but how could it JUST happen like this .. maybe it's associated with the 350z rims .. who knows .. thanks in advance

so I went to the dealer today after noticing my oil was pretty low AGAIN even after having a new engine about a month ago .. the tech said that he only put 5 quarts in when he said for a new engine he should have put in 6 .. so he topped me off and I'm going Monday for an oil change to put in 10w30 for the Summer .. I'm getting a TINY ping but I think that's because SOME oil was consumed while the rings were setting in .. who knows .. anyways ..

for my first noise, I mentioned it with the tech and brought that rear axle tsb with me .. I'm going back next Saturday and he said there may be some rust in there and that they would clean, lub and tighten everything down real good so I don't think I'll need to worry about that noise anymore .. I think the only noise I'm concerned about now is the clutch pedal, as the video shows, how it's just some loose metal rattle noise sometimes when starting out or going slow while pushing in the clutch .. thanks again and I'll consider this as an update bump lol

well damn lol 75 views and no one knows what's going on :-\ .. anyways .. I thought I would post any new information that I gathered from driving this car tonight .. all I can say is it's becoming unbareable and impossible to enjoy this car especially since all of my driving is city driving ..

for some reason you can RARELY get a time where you can just shift quick into another gear without you hearing like a slight grind or metal contact .. most of the time I have to clutch in, go to neutral and almost sort of feel for when it's okay to put it into the next gear .. it's just INSANE at this point .. the clutch chatter seems to be getting worse and when I start out in 1st I'm noticing more often that I get that clutch noise that I posted in my original post .. I've had people tell me this is "normal" but I've driven quite a few manual cars and I've been a passenger in even more yet I've never heard this .. the clutch chatter is liveable but clanking and not being able to just have a smooth shift EVERY time is crazy .. I'm wondering if it's something loose under the car because if I try to get in first and gently push and let go of the gas to make it go and jerk I can hear something under the damn car .. help

yeah I mentioned the TSB on the axle when i went in and they said to make an appointment for this week .. he mentioned relubbing and tightening it all so I'll probably go that route .. not sure what else to do about the other noises .. I'm fairly certain that squeek is the rims which only leaves the clutch issue but thanks a lot for the reply

really ?? this sucks soo bad I pretty much am turning my full attention to just the clutch video .. I don't understand it but it seems like it's MUCH worse after they dropped in a new engine .. I thought they were just replacing the block but the tech told me yesterday it was a complete engine so I'm not sure if the guy didn't put things back perfectly or not tight enough .. it's hard to repeat this noise but I have the video on my cell and I'm hoping the dealer can tell me what it is .. I'm already going Tuesday to get the axle thing fixed so maybe they can at least diagnose this .. it's becoming SOO hard to get a clean shift from 1-3 without feeling resistance or hearing that noise and even when I get a noiseless shift, when I let the clutch back up to go in the new gear, the noise happens sometimes .. I'm at a loss for ideas with this and I was hoping someone had / has this with a solution .. I'm just hoping a video on my cell can get them to fix something considering the tech already messed up with my new engine by putting 5 quarts of oil in when he said he should have put in 6 since it was brand new .. help :-\

so I've been doing a lot of reading on here and it seems my issue is more common than I thought .. some people call it 2nd gear clunk but mostly it's people complaining about how rough it is to get a smooth shift WITHOUT noises from 1st to 2nd and from 2nd to 3rd .. I hope there's a fix for this because I've never driven a manual car that required THIS MUCH babying just to drive normally in town .. maybe something is wrong with the tranny or maybe I need a tranny flush .. I have no idea .. I guess I'll just keep my fingers crossed that someone will reply before Tuesday knowing what that noise is in my video

Don't expect your car to shift as smooth as a Honda. Nissans tranny's are just clunky and noisy. Not to mention the engagement point is high as hell.

Just get use to it. Stop trying to race with it and if you try hard enough, you can get it to where it isn't as annoying.

But yeah, with the Honda, Toyotas, you don't have to try to get it to shift smoothly and their engine and transmission is quiet..

It's different with Nissan.

1st video is probably axle click... It's a common issue that's easily fixed.. DYI costs under 5 bucks and it's pretty simple.

2nd video just shows how clunky our clutches are. I've driven tons of stick shifts throughout the years and G35 is definitely the loudest and hardest I've driven yet.

3rd video all I hear is a camera being stuck out a window and the wind blasting past the mic.

You're too paranoid... Our cars are loud. I was a little concerned when I first got my car but I just got used to it.

thanks for the reply and I probably am a little too paranoid lol but I didn't have THAT noise as often or as loud until AFTER they put a new engine in .. it's almost like I'm doing twice as much work to get a smooth shift running through 1-3 as compared to right before I brought the car in when I had little or no issues .. I go Tuesday if they tell me things are normal I'm not sure what I'll do .. I guess for anyone that doesn't know the g35 is THIS loud they probably think I'm learning how to drive and keep messing up .. sort of just an embarrassment issue at this point and I know I didn't pay that much money to have this many issues and noises

just left the dealership .. he confirmed that it was the rear axle click but said that I would have to pay $180 to have the tech remove and relube everything .. wtf ?? I had the TSB in my hand and he said all the TSB is a paper that they throw into the service manual .. he then said that it was just maintenance and that it would make no difference if I got it done or not so I just left .. dealerships are too hard up for money now-a-days .. I thought this would be a free thing LMAO silly me
