05 6MT will smoke a 330 and that's the right comparison.
If you want to compare your G to an M3, then you must compare it with a GT-R version.
My buddy has a E36 and we talk **** back and forth all the time. And in all that time... we get miata guys that can rip on us at auto-x. He can take me in a straight drag but not by much. I wouldn't even try to drag an E46.

It would be a close race in the 1/4 mile. They both do the 1/4 in 13.1-13.4, with the STI having the advantage at the beginning because of AWD and close gearing, and the M3 pulling after 80 mph. The M3 usually traps 105-107, while the STI traps 102-103.
