What is this piece I found?

I found this in my glove box. Looks like some kind of trim piece. Any ideas?

Thanks

well it doesnt come ON our cars but it comes with it

it's for 6MTs. in case the arm rest thing gets in the way of your elbow when you shift, you can take off the arm rest. however, doing so leaves the two metal magnetic spots (that hold the lid to the compartment closed) exposed. the piece the OP asked about is provided to cover up those metal pieces

ahh too many megapixels, i'm on 1920x1080 resolution and i still cant see it...

so it covers the magnet strips, so you don't accidentally demagnetize your watch and all the credit cards in your wallet when you put it in the compartment? lol

i've always wondered how people use that cup holder under the arm rest...
