Start engine with VDC OFF...
From what I've read, its not do-able. Besides, I'd rather leave it on normally just in case. If its raining and you forget to turn it back on, you might be screwed. Its better to be safe then sorry.
Tanx for both of you

for the other newbies... lol :P

VDC stands for Vehicle Dynamics Control, not driving control or whatever.
To be very clear about how my VDC works, every time I turn the ignition off, it resets to the "on" position.
However, if I had it off, and somehow stalled my engine by dumping the clutch or something, and I restart my engine (but never turn my ignition off), the VDC will stay off.
When my VDC is off if I touch the button again it the "VDC OFF" light/symbol will disappear and VDC appears to turn back on.
If I turn my ignition on, I can turn VDC off before I start the car if I wish for whatever reason.
I generally drive with VDC on unless I want to have some fun since my VDC seems to let me have a little fun before it kicks in (it depends though, my VDC hates it when I get sideways and will correct me right away, but I can light up my tires in a straight line quite a bit without it interfering much).
