So it seems like the iPad was made for an easy fit into our Gs. I have 05 without Navi and I made a couple of short movies of the setup. Have a look and let me know what you think:

yeah i give you credit for the DIY but i don't think that looks good at all...not to mention it's quite unnecessary.

 

thanks well i think its necessary for me because I dont have to squint into my iPhone while driving for things like GPS and OBD metrics through the PLX transmitter, making SKYPE calls, Pandora i get all of that at a touch of a button. In terms of size it doesnt obstruct my view so the bigger the better. I love the way google maps looks on this.

 

be VERY careful in the summer. The heat will "melt" the adhesive on the back of the velcro. I had the remote to my stereo in my old car attached with that stuff.

 

lol, Until someone retrofits it to the pop up mechanism, its just plain stupid. Not to mention a bit too big.

and thanks to the speed of the iPads processor the refresh rate is great and tons of different readouts which are usefull especially if youre boosted.

 

I think it looks to big and i wouldn't leave that in the car, they see that on your dash while driving, they will follow you to see if you park somewhere an take it.

 

Apple sucks.

 

Actually i think the camera angle makes it look big because of the way i filmed it but here's a clip showing google maps:
