Jay- wants to know when racing is it better to turn off VDC
High 1/4 times? seriously? sorry you need to learn to drive man.. manual with a good driver will beat any same car auto.. not to mention that automatics are generally weaker than their manual counterparts being as the transmission is not as efficient as a manual.
and the high Oil consump on a manual is total BS as well. you think this is a stiff clutch?
you never drove a real performance car then.
my 5.0 stang with a Centerforce Dual Friction clutch is literally almost 2x harder to push than the G.
this car is a easy to drive creampuff in comparison perfect for commuting compared to the 600 hp stang.
The only thing a Auto has over a manual at the drag strip is consistency..
stick it in drive and your times will be close every time as long as you launch the same every time.
where a manual the launch and the entire race take alot more skill to run consistent times especially in bracket racing.

This is why I hate threads that derail about who drives what tranny. I get pulled into it every time. Most people consider finding an easier way to get the same job done as PROGRESS. I don't care if manual takes more "skill", I can do the same things you do, AND do them easier and faster. But anyways, VB + pulleys > 6MT
who the hell cares? this debate is so stupid no one ever wins.....i know manual g's that beat auto g's and auto g's that beat manual g's (all na) what the hell does it matter!!!!!!
+1.. i think this thread needs to be locked...
ummm....no
dumb kid bro, hks clone w/ test pipes, jwt popcharger, and stage 2 cobb ac and yeah i beat up evos and old men in stock corvettes, sorry i know how to drive my G and appreciate the fact that it has soo many things i can do to it, evos ans stis take time to spool up, they take me a lil off the line and thats about it. you think evos and sti's beat an e46 ///M too? stupid kid

Here's my contribution. It's not a fine cheese to go with a fine wine, etc... but don't any of you dare talk bad about it until you've snacked on it...
I can drive a MT but with the amount of traffic I have every day I hate it.
If I want a MT I will drive my Mommy's Spec B Legacy...
wow I just realized that my Mommy and I have faster cars than the guys in our family.
MODS PLEASE LOCK THIS THREAD!
I don't care if a manual is better that auto or vice versa, SAME DAMN CAR, GET OVER IT, Grow up a couple more years and maybe u will grow a brain while ur at it, sheesh, it's like high school all over again!

If it helps, I prefer driving with the VDC off. Less power lag coming out of the turns, but you need to know how to control the car so you don't kick the rear out when you start getting on the gas.

As for the VDC, if your friend knows how to drive an RWD car then there shouldn't be a problem.
