Re: window grease fix?

Okay there is a piece of felt that touches the window for stability. What happens is greese gets on the felt and saturates the felt.

There is a fix. You can have Infiniti take care of it but in my PDF that I compiled there is a DIY section on it.

Take that and click on number seven.

Infiniti should fix for free so take it to them.

Re: window grease fix?

Unfortunately, the fix does not help the problem. I've had my windows in twice now and brining it in again to have the streaks taken care of. They've done every single TSB out there. I think they should just give me 2 new doors.

Re: window grease fix?

are the streaks just that? or are there any other issues tied to them? basically, if the streaks dont bother me, can i just leave them or is it a precursor to something worse? thanks

Re: window grease fix?

Nah leaving the greese marks will not hurt anything really. Maybe harm your window or turn it yellow or something over a LONG ammount of time. If I had tints I would fix it right away. Just get it fixed, see if it comes back.

Thanks - Joey Avino

Re: window grease fix?

Does the Infiniti fix really work? Or does it just lessen the amount of grease on the windows?

The reason I ask is because I have some light grease streaks but I'm wondering if the fix will work. I would have hoped that by 2004.5, they would have implemented this 'fix' at the factory instead of keep building them w/ the problem.
Thanks!

Re: window grease fix?

I just got mine fixed and it only lessen the amount of grease. Keep in mind it was by a substantial amount, however their still is a small very light amount of grease.

Re: window grease fix?

That's what I was thinking. I will double-check how much grease there is on my windows and decide whether I should have them attempt to fix it or not.

I am taking my car b/c it has drifted to the right since I got it. I know there is a TSB to replace the compression rod bushing, but I'm wondering if I will need an alignment too.

Re: window grease fix?

I have a 2004.5 and I don't get the streaks or the drifting to the right...could they still appear in the future? My car was built June 2004.
