About Debadging

Hello everyone,

I am new here and was lucky enough to stumble upon this website. I have done some searching and the threads I have found are a few years old.

I just purchased a 2004 G35 coupe 6MT (loooove the car) only 50k miles so it has def been taken care of. My question is how bad would the ghosting be on my vehicle if I removed the "G35" and the Infiniti emblems. My car is Black btw.

Thank you so much.

After you debadge, have it waxed (or wax it yourself) and you should be good to go!

Awesome. This is my first car, always driven trucks so I have never really done the whole hand waxxing. I am assuming that I will have to wax the entire car not just where I took the badges off because it will be a different brightness on the trunk?

Oh and thank you for the quick responses.

I dont get why people take off the letters and stuff, it looks so much better with the letters and logo. Can you put them back on? what happens when you want to sell it?

You have to buy new ones, but they can be put back on easily. IMO the trunk looks super clean with just the Mt. Fuji emblem.

You'll want to wax and/or polish the car to protect your paint, not just get rid of the ghosting. Infiniti paint is notorious for being soft and easy to damage. You have a great car, now it's time to take care of it correctly!!

Because IMO it looks so much cleaner with everything off.

If after you debadge you have shadows a little SCRATCHX or other scratch removers will get rid of the shadows. Wax/clay have nothing to do with removing the shadows but will do a great job of keeping your trunk lid in good shape....

I just used a clay bar and wax, it looked great. I also think it looks amazing with just the mt fuji.

Clay bar and wax it, you don't have to do the rest of the car but it is a good idea to take good care of your paint.

i removed my g35 with no problems.
when i removed the infiniti writing i had huge problems as there was a bunch of build up and crap under the writing. i used 3 different gunk and grease removers and had no luck and actually had to put everything back on.
