what rotors ? - please recommend
Hi i made the mistake to resurface my oem rotors when i replaced my pads (HP HAWKS) and now my car shakes like there is no tomorrow under moderate breaking.. i am on a budget and would like to know what you all are using and what you all recommend.
Thanks in advance.

did you bed in your pads properly? it is unlikley that the rotors are warped but more likley that you have excess pad material built up on one spot of the rotor causing the shutter you describe. if you need new rotors try the Napa ultra premium rotors, not to pricey, I use them for my oem brembos.

I took my car into the dealer thinking it was a wheel bearing, they are the ones that told me the rear pads were new and missing the shims and one of the rotors were warped. I'm going to add the shims see if that takes the shake away if not gonna replace the rotors. Dealer wanted $375 to replace and fix. SCREW THEM!

read the article in the link I gave you there is no such thing as a warped rotor!!!! the shims aren't going to do a thing for you the best you can do is try to properly bed (I know the Hawks come with bedding instructions) in the pads and maybe it will go away if not... turn them or replace them, then PROPERLY bed in your pads its the most important part of a brake job when done properly it will extend the life of both the pad and rotor and increase your stopping power.

As a sports car racer of 30+ years, I learned to bake my pads before installation. Get an old toaster oven, put it outdoors. Put in pads (don't overlap them) set temp for 350, bake for 30 minutes. Shut off oven. DO NOT open oven until pads are cold as the introduction of cold air when the pads are hot will make them brittle. Doing this will cut down on the pads outgassing, making them pretty much ready to go.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it so that not all pads require shims. For example I purchased oem-replacement semi-metallic wrangler pads both f&r and the factory shims couldn't be applied. I properly bedded in the pads using the stop-tech process. I've now had them on for a little under a month and no problems experienced. Is it possible that I’ll experience an issue some time down the road. BTW the front rotor are new wrangler oem-replacements and the rear are factory oem just turned/cut/resurfaced.
OP, if you're not planning on any track days and just enjoy daily driving any over the counter replacement should be fine. Just stay away from the eBay stuff. They might look nice but they are cra*
