Too many problems with coupes

Hello Everyone. I just got my 2004 6MT Coupe and I have 900 miles on it with no problems at all (knock on wood)... My serial number is 82000+. Why do I see so many posts with problems and issues? I hope I didn't buy a crap car that's going to fall apart. Please shed some light to this. Thanks and happy motoring.

Go to any forum for any car, you will see a number of people with all sorts of problems. It is not just the coupe... I have had mine for almost 22,000 miles with only the window problem which was fixed in one afternoon. Other than that my G is a total TANK and I love it!

Thanks. It's true that all forums have a lot of problems, but it's a little disconcerning when they're all quality issues. I hope that I don't get any of them,,, hahaha. But I love my G.

Re: Too many problems with coupes

Though I would say that the G35 is built better than the majority of cars out there, there are some serious unresolved issues with it. The manual transmission, non-Brembo brakes, and window motors/actuators are all very problematic. So far, Infiniti has issued TSBs for these problems, but a recall would be preferable. They have to do *something* to redeem themselves. Infiniti fell from #3 to #10 in Initial Quality between 2003-2004; I wonder why?

Overall, I have been a bit disappointed with the G35's build quality. What was the last "luxury" car that with windows that fail, period?

Re: Too many problems with coupes

does everybody with a good number of mileage get these window problems? does that mean inevitably i will encounter this problem too? what can you do when the window stops working? can you atleast pull it up? i would be pissed if my window stopped working on rainy/snowy day.

You can inch it up to get it to close, I did it with the door open being careful not to get it to high. I used the corner rubber guide by the mirror and inched it till it bairly touched the rubber so it wouldnt hurt the window or the seal when I closed the door. then took it to the dealer a cpl days later and it was fixed with no problems whatsoever.

Go to any car forum and you'll see people complaining about this and that. The people without problems are out driving their cars :P

Re: Too many problems with coupes

People mostly post problems more than good experiances. If I posted every time I liked something about the car I'd probably get a swift kick in the junk cause everyday it raises the heartbeat and puts a smile on my face. But this is a great place to figure problems out and the best part is most of them if not all are taken care of.

Like above posters have said. Any car will have problems, some people abuse their cars or don't properly maintain them and complain when something goes wrong. Other times, people exaggerate the small things since there is nothing else to complain about.

Re: Too many problems with coupes

People who frequent these boards who happen to have problems with their cars will almost always post about it to get advice, feedback and sympathy from other owners. People who've had no problems (like me) rarely post to that effect except when asked. Same thing happens on BBs for any make of car and invariably skews the picture, making them seem like they have lots of problems whether they do or not. In our case I think it's accurate to say that the G35 is a very well made, highly reliable car overall.
