if you're just looking to make the car sound better, and not be too loud, then you could go the route I did. The car sounds exactly the same as stock, only louder. I exchanged the factory muffler with a Flowmaster, you can find it on Youtube.
The car has a sweeeet sound to it, and on the freeway you'll never know you changed it. You won't be getting any more ponies out of it, but the sound will be there.
I suspect that, if you're under 30 years of age, this system may be too quiet for you, I'm an old man of 50, so to my ears, it's perfect.
It's inexpensive too, only running me $80.00 for the muffler and another $100.00 to install it.
Just one of many ways to go.....

I'll try to find the paperwork, it's been a while since I've done this. I do remember the price on the Flowmaster being $88.14 to be exact. Of course the installation depends on your local muffler shop. I retained the original exhaust tips to make it look as stock as possible. (There was free shipping on the muffler too.)
I'll do my best to try to find the paperwork...

Ouch....at our age Jekyl you need to shop around, that's twice too much for install. I only paid $80 to have my HKS system installed, muffler alone is nothing in comparison labor wise!
