Gettin an early jump on things Where buy Blizzaks?

I tried drivin my G last winter without winter tires and it was fun.. but then again, my idea of fun is pretty demented This year, i'm gonna play it safe. Last year, I was driving my car horizontally down Route 17 (Jersey) at around 12 MPH. If i tried inching above that, the car would spin out. WAAAY too dangerous. Didn't listen to people on this board because i couldn't afford it, but this year I gotta do it. I have some spare 18s in the attic that i don't care about (from my last car), so i wanna throw some blizzaks on them and use them for the winter. I checked Tirerack and they wanted 210 a pop for em. I'm sure i could find it cheaper somewhere else. Anyone had any experiences with buying Blizzaks? Where'd u get them from?

Thanks.

I get all of my tires including my Blizzaks from Tire Rack.
Get them now while you still can. They become harder to get after the 1st snow.

I have a brand new (just bought 2 weeks ago and never mounted) set of Blizzak LM22's for the 18" Rims (staggered fitment) that I am going to be selling for $800 (local pickup only). They're $914 plus shipping on TireRack. PM me if you want them.

Get the Blizzaks from tirerack..quick. Last winter I waited too long and they were very difficult to get. I got the Blizzaks with 17" wheels and they worked great on my NJ commute

i agree, tire rack was where i got my WS'...their customer service is awesome. i had a problem with one snow tire and they shipped me a brand new one and reimbursed me for getting it mounted and balanced with no problem watsoever. get em now, i had to wait a month for mine but it came just in time for the snow storms, i went everywhere with them on.

I was thinking of doing this soon too. I'm looking to drop down to 17"s for the winter. Anyone have pictures of their 17" setup w/ the brembos if they have them???

Re: Gettin an early jump on things Where buy Blizzaks?

I too am looking to buy some winter tires for my G35.
I went to the Tire Rack site and saw the Blizzaks.

I also saw the Dunlop SP Winter Sport M3's which got rave reviews from many users. These are a bit less expensive than
the Blizzaks in the 18" size I need.

Anybody out there with some feedback on these tires?
Do they work well on the G?

Re: Gettin an early jump on things Where buy Blizzaks?

instead of dropping $1200-1400 on a set of blizzaks and a set of 17" rims from tire rack, i was thinking of going with all seasons with some nice 17's from wheelmax for the winter for about $7-800.

i live in nyc, think i can get by the winter with all seasons? i dont drive that often anyway, but wanted to be able to get somewhere just in case of an emergency, or if i get caught in some snow while i'm out and about. thanks.

Re: Gettin an early jump on things Where buy Blizzaks?

eiji14, I think its worth it to spend a little extra on dedicated snow tires/rims rather than all seasons... Not only will they perform better when you need them but think of how much you'd end up paying if you lost control with those all seaons... typically all season tires don't perform as well in really low temperatures... and last year the winter in NYC was crazy... temperatures got to like negative numbers at one point... so i'd say invest now rather than risk paying for it later...
