Ok so i got my car with the 18" Tires and they Max Psi is like 54 i think, well i checked the tire pressure after driving it about 900 miles, and they were at about 42, i called the dealer and said damn this thing rides worse than anything i have ever been in, so he told me to drop the psi to about 32-34 i dropped it to 32 figuring when the tires were warm they would be around 34. Well they still ride like crap and i was wondering if anyone else is noticing this or if i should drop em down more!

I wouldn't drop them too much more than that as 35 psi is recommended by the factory. The coupes are fairly loud on the highway. I got tired of having to raise my voice to talk with my g/f so I got some dynamat and put it in. It made a big difference. 6mthavoc? did a great write up on his install.

yup road noise is anoying. This car makes more of it then my truck. so the dynamat helped, where did you apply it to? I also notice that you can hear the rain falling on the roof more then anyother car I've owned, maybe I gotta slap some up top.

 

I have found the coupe fairly noisey since new; it just is not well insulated,
Additionally, as the the pilot sports wear ( I am at 16K mi.), they get louder. I actually find the most noise at about 30 mph and while breaking. This is the same "tire roar" problem that is well documented on the Z; however Infiniti won't admit the G has the same problem. I believe Z drivers are getting free alignments & replacement tires.
So what we appear to have is a poorly insulated car (sound wise) and an alignment/tire wear noise iissue - both contributing to a lot of noise.

 

This car is very poorly insulated. When I run over small gravel on the road I can hear all the little pebbles hitting the rear wheel wells very loudly. I don't think there is any insulation there, it sounds like they're gonna fly into the car...

Thanks for the compliment. It is always nice to have something you put some time into appreicated. The dynamat has helped a whole lot in making the car quieter. I used to turn the radio at above 12 all the time while city driving, and above 14 when on the highway. Now, it hardly sees over 10. It also sounds better with more clarity.

 

If you've ever removed your seats and looked under it, you can see that there IS quite a big of padding there for noise reduction. The road noise can be quite loud, but it's dependent on the road as well. I'm in Washington and most parts of the highway are pretty loud, but there are patches where it's really quiet. I think the tires is a big part of it as the Michelins seem to amplify whatever road noise there is. You can try some less performance oriented tires and that should improve the road noise level. Additional sound insulation is also an option. Personally, it doesn't bother me as much as in the beginning.
