which intake manifold is best???
i have 5/16 MD plenum and AEM CAI getting HFCs and catback this winter then saving for procharger. i want to get 2 mods under 1k along with my exhaust to hold me over. was thinking of an intake manifold, not sure which one tho. any thoughts?
You will loose power with any aftermarket CAI.. The best mod for our cars are the 5/16 plenum spacer and high flow cats/test pipes. CAI's for our cars just don't work well and have heat soak issues. Sure, you might squeeze in an extra 3hp at 6k rpm but would you ever feel that? no.
I have personally have tried out two different CAI's and with both i felt like my throttle response became worse. I now have stuck to my stock air box and Z-tube.
The stock Cats on our cars are without a doubt the MOST restrictive part of our car! You get almost more gains switching to a quallity high flow cat/test pipe than you do with some exhausts.
Id recommend Fast Intensions high flow cats. But if you want to spend a little extra, the Motordyne ART pipes seem to squeeze the most ponies out of your car.
Good thing about high flow cats is that you keep the classic Infiniti tone but AMPLIFY it!
As seen in my video:
Also learn to use the SEACH button!

intake man....
no its 05 5at. i was looking at a dyno comparison cosworth and kinetix put out the same numbers but kinetix is more $$$ and it looks better. what would you do with 05 5AT with 5/16 plenum spacer...kinetix or mrev2?

Unless you plan on going FI do not get the Kinetix Velocity plenum. (Velocity replaced the SSV model) Do not believe the manufacturer's claims because there's no way its capable of gaining 30hp on an N/A setup. Since you have an automatic your lower plenum is almost the same as the MREV2, the 5/16 spacer is all you need. I say keep your stock plenum and spend your money elsewhere.
Good job Beebo, I think that ship has sailed....
