Best Tranny and Diff fluids
For the SR20 crowd, Redline MT90 is king for manual trans fluid. Since the G35 has the same GL-4 fluid requirement, then I'd stick with the Redline or OEM. I remember that the GL-5 has different additives that tear up the copper syncros.
FSM states tranny takes 3-1/8 qt. So buy accordingly. It also says to replace the gaskets in the drain and filler plugs.
For the diff, FSM states 3 pt of GL-5 (which is about 1.5 qts.)

While I don't really see the problem, the FSM states API GL-4 for the trans and API GL-5 (SAE 80) for the diff gear oil. Figure there's 'some' reason for the difference. Rear takes 3 pts (1.5qt) and GL5 is readily available at most auto stores, it's the GL4 that's a pain to find. I've ordered Redline MT90 from summitracing.com in the past.

For the differential....... most of the oils are good. But for transmission use only OEM Nissan.......... other more advanced oils have a tendancy to eat up the synchros in our cars(bronze synchros) ...... that what i read some where here........

What could I buy instead?
For the differential, you can put in most of the brands(with limited slip, it's been long so don't quote me on this) available out here ........ i for one used the Lucas.

Yes and sorry for the late response.
I used to have to dbl clutch on OEM stuff from 1st-2nd gear until the gearbox warmed up, ridiculous. No more dbl clutching needed since using Amsoil. Still a little notchy when cold, but nothing like it was with OEM.

If anyone is looking to purchase Amsoil products here is a very useful link that will let you know which product is used for which fluid and also how much of it you will need.
