Rebuilt Title in 2003 G35 70000 miles

Hello, I just bought a 2003 G35 with 70000 miles. However it has a rebuilt title. Probably it had a minor accident long time ago. I paid 8700$ and 2 different mechanics checked the car. Also one of the mechanics was my friend he checked it twice. There is really nothing wrong with the car now. (Mats and interior are dirty and who cares). The car runs good brakes are good tyres are good but when I was buying it I didnt know that it had a rebuilt title. It is my first car ever in my life and feels like I made a mistake even tho everything is great with the car and I like it so much. I just want to feel relieved because I am planning driving this car for 4 more years until I leave the US. What do you guys think about this rebuilt title thing, the price I paid and what I did totally? I made some research and I did not see good things about this title and I feel horrible now...

Just make sure that you stay on top of the maintenance! not just the oil change!

People will rebuilt titles are bad. But from my own personal experience. There not that horrible. I've owned over 40 cars and about 75% were rebuilt or reconstructed. Some I sold and some were totaled. Insurance companies pay as if were a clean title. Never had any issue. All rebuilt means is the car was brought back to factory and state safety standards. Now you can get burned with rebuilt titled cars to. Buying them from people who cut corners and did things half assed. All my cars. I bought hit and fixed myself. So I know what I was getting myself into. The only type of cars I wouldn't buy are ones with flood damage. To many issues electronically. But as long as you had the car check out and it came back healthy. You have nothing to worry about. Who cares what people say enjoy your car. Good luck

Yea Thanks Marlon. I really care about this car and I am ready to do everything. But I am just wondering did I pay too much for a rebuilt titled car? G35 s were always more expensive...

hrmmmm...$8700 is dirt cheap so I wouldn't say it's necessarily a bad deal, but I agree with gck, definitely keep on top of maintenance in case any issues arise. In retrospect, you probably should've looked into the history of the car a lot more before you bought it... but the best you can do now is just keep on top of it. If it indeed was something minor, you may have lucked out at that price. good luck though and welcome!

Thank you. I did not know that those forums are really helpful. I love my new car and everybody likes it alot so I am happy actually. I was tricked maybe, I don't know. First car in my life, different country different people I might have done a mistake I admit. I am planning to sell it 3 years later around 100000 miles and everything is great so far. Thanks again.

the way i see it if you are happy with it then you didn't! just enjoy it, in the worse scenario the damage is already done! just go have fun!

You probably saved $4000-$6000 off the market rate for the car because it's rebuilt. While not pristine, you get what you pay for, and it sounds like you got a pretty good deal.

I don't think you'll find many forum members who paid less than you did for your G. Enjoy!

yea i see lol. actually the funny thing is, g35 wasnt even on my car list. i had 9000 bucks. i was looking for an old audi TT that kind of things. so 3 months ago this guy a (friend's friend) wanted me to pay 13000. i said no thanks i didnt even inspect the car because i didnt have the money. then i bought it for 8700 after my mechanic's friend's second inspection (i am not sure if it is the right word to use) i still see the prices on craigslist and they are all more then 12k. so i feel good now bc rebuilt or not i will drive this car for 4 years then we will see. so i am happy now bc people here thinks that it is not a very bad thing
