Has anyone in here have replace their drive belts? The dealership will charge me $193, the parts only cost me $50, so i was thinking of diy project. The only question i have is how do u measure how hard the belt will be? Thank you ahead. Yours alway the best!!!!!!

It will only cost you $30 if you order from everythingg35.com. $50 is too much.

SVTCOBRA, wassup! I'm in CLT.

There is a deflection tool you can get, most people just wing it to roughly 5mm but don't quote me on that. There it a step by step DIY out the just search.

Never go to the stealership for a service.
That's where they make all their money.
I bought my belts on ebay for around $40 (nissan cert parts).
And had them installed by a local mechanic shop for another $30.
Saved myself about $130.
Just search on ebay for G35 belts.

Juat had my car seviced the other day due to the bulletin for the air bag. They called me to the back to showed me that my belt had started cracking some. They said that it would need to be replaced. It will cost me $150 plus tax for an hours work. My car is still under warranty and I would rather have them install it even though it may cost me more. If something happened due to the belt being installed incorrectly I don't think a body shop will be able to afford another engine.

The hardest thing about changing your belt, is taking the million bolts of the under panel off. On a scale of 1 to 10, this is about a 2. If you ever changed oil or plugs, this should be a piece o cake.
