Are you satisfied with the STOCK performance of your G??
How many of you here own a Stock G35 coupe/sedan Auto, 6mt and are actually satisfied with the 280 hp, that the Infiniti Gods' have implanted within our beautiful machines? (vq35de)
Would you rate the car as..
1. Fast!
2. Decent
3. Slow as ****
I own an 04 G auto Coupe, and
I personally dont do much racing.. However, i find that the G has adequate power in normal traffic conditions. And I am able to easily pass others on the highway.. I am satisfied with the stock 280.
Im sure others here would beg to differ.
Whats your take?

I wasn't dissatisfied with SLICK'S performance when I brought her home from Glendale Infiniti but I've never driven a vehicle I haven't modified. Every new car will run/look better with a quality intake/ exhaust and wheels. There are so many choices on the market we need DRIVER and it's members to help us make the correct decisions. Other wise you're looking at import car mags and their adds for answers....

I'm pleased with it for the most part. Exhaust and spacer suites my needs. That's about as far as I'm going to go as far as engine modifications. Anytime I step on it, it brings a smile to my face. It's just I hate the times when I ride in my friends' cars which are tuned Evo's and Supra's, that's when I hop back into my car and the excitement goes away for a little while haha.

I'm pretty pleased, it has plenty of passing power as said earlier, and I have an 04 auto. It never matters what car you get or how you mod it someone will always be faster. I think it's a fun car to drive. I always do something to my vehicles, I've put a woofer and amp in the back and will probably add wheels and exhaust. Love the tone but want it louder. Always put pipes on my bikes too.

My 06 AT Sedan is pretty damn decent. It has plenty of power for everyday driving and just enough for screwing around once in a while. Ive raced my cousins 10' SRT8 Charger from a dig; I was ahead up until about 90MPH, He then pulled a car and a half on me up to 130MPH. (All on a closed track ofcoarse) My point is, you will never need more power unless your Mr. Speed Racer or some crap.

When I want to go fast I get on the motorcycle.
The G is decent. 280 horsepower was a pretty respectable number back in 2003-2004...especially for a normally aspirated six cylinder. Today, not so much. I'd like to see another fifty foot lbs. of torque.
Personally I was apalled there wasn't serious performance gains to be had through cost-effective bolt on's. I was so used to under-engineered American cars that one could dump $1000 in to and get serious performance gains. When I learned that the only substantial performance increase with the VQ was $6k-$10k for forced induction, I started regretting my decision to buy the G over a Mustang.
To cure my depression I bought a motorcycle. Now the G is like a raincoat. Not as much fun to use, but nice to keep the rain & cold at bay.
I doubt I'll keep my G long enough for it to need a new engine, since I only drive it about 6000 miles/yr., but if I do I hope there's a reasonably priced 5.6L Titan engine retrofit option available.

When i got the G i couldn't drive it at all. 6MT and my first manual transmittion. After I got a ride in her, I couldn't hold my pants down. It's fast enough for daily driving but with mods it's decently faster.
Just like Irrevelent I plan on getting a bicycle and having fun on that. The G is still a fast car. It's great on the tracks.
