Again, sorry for the lost of your vehicle. After this incident, I would not be using the term "friend" loosely. I agree that things happen... But maybe his bank account should be " hurt" in this instance. Is your insurance going to cover the 7 series damage outright?

Friend

Your 'friend's ' insurance company should cover the repairs to all cars involved. My ins. covers me no matter what I drive.

I dont see how his insurance will cover it. Thats like saying if i dont have a car, but i have a license and no insurance and crash yours it would be covered. The insurance is for a specific car and vin.

Car dealerships and Car rentals required that you have auto insurance before they loan you their car.

So obviously, when you drive someone's car and crash it, your insurance company should cover the damages to the other car.

On the other hand, 21st Century Insurance covers your car no matter who drives it. BUT, I'm guessing they will go after the driver to get back the lost.

I see. I have always been told the only thing your insurance would cover would be you like your body just like if you were test driving a car at a dealership.

from my understanding, most insurance companies cover rental or substitute vehicles, so in this case I'm hoping his insurance cover the cost of both the repair/replacement of mine and the repair of the BMW. Most likely what will happen is that my insurance company fixes the BMW and then goes after his insurance company for payment of damages caused by him. With regards to my car, i hope his insurance company will cover the car and just total it out. I don't want to drive a wrecked car.

So yeah, idiot move on my part to let him drive the car. I never imagined he would be so reckless, I should have seen it a mile away. All things considered, he made a mistake but I'm not going to let our friendship be compromised by a car. **** happens, deal with it and move on. He's good for the money regardless of what happens with his insurance company, so I guess everything will eventually be okay. He is a long time friend and honestly I'd rather be out the money then his friendship. Maybe I'm stupid but I'll put my money on my friends and family any day before I put it on my assets.

If they total it out, I will probably buy the car back from the insurance company and sell it off. I already have a few guys interested in it. This could be a good thing.....

Where is the car sitting? I was thinking if you want to try to save your friend some money you can order the parts and try to install it your self but also have your friend there to help you since he did it. If this is an option and if the car is at your place.

In North Carolina you have to have insurance to get a license, even if you don't have a car. So if you don't have your own car and you get into an accident driving someone else's car, you still have insurance that will cover for whatever you have on your policy.

After two burnt clutches thanks to friends nobody drives the G, and I doubt that car is totaled. I got hit is the same exact place and work was probably under 3000 and the rear axle was bent on mine. Screw the insurance and just make him pay for it.
