Guys, so here's an update.

Looks like the car won't be totaled out. The body shop is going to fix it.

Now my question to those of you who have had your car wrecked.

How much should I ask from the Insurance company for loss of value?

My car is:

04 g35c. white, black interior.
138,xxx
every option that can come on an automatic.

I'd be amazed if you got money for 'loss of value'. good luck! Glad it can be fixed though.

Why would i not get loss of value? The fact of the matter is that yes, I will sell the car for less then I could have prior to the accident. I feel like the owe me the difference.

Have you heard from the driver of the BMW yet. Because it was clearly your friends fault he or you should also be responsible for the repairs to the BMW and the BMW driver could also claim medical costs if he suffered any injury real or imagined. This is the way it would work in the state I live in...I know state laws vary...again good luck.

I have not heard from the BMW owner, I guess he got what he needed from my insurance company. My liability will cover the accident to the BMW considering insurance follows the car, not the driver. If the BMW costs more than what my liability coverage was then my friend's insurance company will cover additional costs.

Your friend's insurance should be covering the BMW, not your insurance. Your insurance should remain completely out of this if possible...

Being that you have high mileage you probably won't get much for it. Miles kill the value of a car. GL. Why don't you take the bbv and get another car?

Planning on getting the car fixed and then selling it off.

Don't know what I'm going to get but we will see.

I have a rule that unless I can pay for a car in cash, I don't buy it. No need to overextend my finances.
