cpu

does the 2004 g35 coupe have a computer that logs the speed you have been at? if so, how do i reset the computer so that when i take my car for service they cant read it.

hmmmm...heard somthing like that on TV while ago, think its the ABS thinging, ecu will log what speed you at when you brake, but not sure how one can go about reset it, maybe disconnect the battery for 12 hours?

I believe that's only on American cars. They refer to it as "the box" or something like that. Your dealership isn't going to go snooping around for the speeds you are driving at. Public roads prohibit you from travelling certain speeds, but the car is yours (whether you leased or bought) and Infiniti doesn't have any rules about speeds, lol.

If you're concerned about it, reset the CPU. thread is in the Tech/Mods section.

M3's have over-rev logs, but I doubt our cars have that type of thing.

The ABS/SRS computers log and permanently burn data 3 seconds before and thru an air bag deployment, but this just FIFO's in and out without the air bags firing.

Same with ecu when in diagnostic mode just stores previous 3 seconds from the start of a data log [store command].

Anyway dealers don't have the diagnosis computer to read the air bag full impact data: only insurance companies and special investigator companies.......the air bag computer must be removed and sent out to read it.
