Please Assist on how to Deal with Dealership...they cannot fix my problem
I am from Toronto, Ontario. Just visited today Markham Infiniti, and was treated with the least amount of respect I would expect from a 'luxury' dealership. When I walked in, the reception never even looked at me or greeted.
I said I need to check on some lights that keep coming on, ' turn left, down the aisle'. So I did. Then there were several service advisors, none of them looked at me again or said ' how can I help you? '.. I had to ask one by one if they had time for me, o my god.
My guy never introduced his name to me, asked how I was doing, address me as Mr. so and so. Maybe I am expecting too much? I work in customer service in a bank, so maybe I thought I'd get it in a place like this...
Anyways, the issue is the common VDC, SLIP, and ABS lights all on. Sometimes it does and would go away for weeks, then just come back. It took the dealer TWO HOUR to come to a conclusion that ' you have water in your ABS relay, and its cracked. We dried it and tightened it with plastic bands. should be okay now'.
Well, the lights came on again shortly after I got home.
What should I do now guys? I never deal with dealerships, always go to my neighbour mech but this time they couldnt figure out why. If I replace the ABS relay, am I suppose to pay for labour all over again? I have a 2004 infiniti g35 coupe... this bill alone that fixed nothing was $200...
What if even after the new ABS relay problem still persists? Do I keep paying labour hour after hour until they can figure it out? My mech don't charge unless they find a problem.......I really have no experience dealing with dealerships, please suggest how I should go to them for my Thursday appointment?
Thank you kindly, and drive safe in winters yall..

Well, if the problem is still there, bring your car back and take your money back. If they refuse, then "let me talk to your boss". That's what I would do.
If you know what exactly is wrong with your car, then there is no reason for you to take your car to the dealer again. Buy the part that you need to replace and take it to your trustworthy repair shop.

..i thought dealership would be all the same... that there is no 'bad' dealerships...i guess I made a mistake. Should I call corporate tomorrow and show all these forum posts in order to get something?
like..i was really treated like a teen who just wanted a testdrive.. i admit i don't know much about cars, thats why I depend on you guys at infiniti dealer..
guys, in a dealership, I cannot say you didn't fix my problem so i don't pay right? o.0...I already paid $200 of labour worth nothing... I Don't know what to do..
Since its such a common problem, shouldn't the tech know what to look for right away? ... the solution of wrapping it with a plastic band is kinda..funny.... I am looking at all the posts of people who fixed this problem ( cleaned sensor, abs line, brake fluid) , IF I asked them to do a checkup like that, you think they will just run me for more labour $$? o.0

If the dealer won't fix it without charging you again. I would go to your local mechanic and tell him what the dealer said the problem is. He should be able to determine if the ABS relay is cracked. You can buy a replacement relay for $125.25 online. I really believe that there are good dealers and bad dealers. They are franchises...independently owned.
