Well i just got a 07 5AT g35 coupe and i would love to know how to race on tip correctly? Like starting 0-60..i know this may sound dumb but please cut me some slack i just turned 16.. Thanks! Oh and whats the difference between a rev up engine and the normal ones?

Rev-up = 6mt, nonrev-up = 5at... ^ ahhaa although that is correct just shift up whenever you want before redline and youll be fine.. Shifting down is a bit more tricky so don't shift down until under 1.5 (1000) rpm.. Otherwise you will experience a rough ride.

**** like 300 RPMs before redline because the auto tranys are not really fast in shifting so you when you shift 300 before redline it will still go up and then shift to the next gear. If you want to do a hard launch it's kinda hard with a auto but just turn the (VDC off at you own rick btw) press the break and start giving a little gas the rpms should go up to like 1500 maybe more I don't remember that well. Just pop the break and you will take off and get ready to shift don't let off the gas pedal just keep pushing it and shifting. I shift around 6,300-6,600. Launch by pressing the gas and the brake simultaneously. Then release brake as common sense dictates.

i know with my car i was able to launch it at 2300 rpms. anything more then that and the tires will start to break loose at the line. just like everyone has said, be safe and dont do anything stupid and wreck your car

yo, I know this car is fast, and you want to impress your friends but please do not wrap your self around a tree.

Leave VDC on at all times(there are some exceptions) such as if you are stuck in the mud or you want to try to launch.

Is this your first RWD car? When it rains be careful, you cannot drive is as fast like you do in the dry the rear will kick out and you can pull a noob. Keep VDC on when its wet and you will see how often vdc will kick in you will hear vibrations and the brake pulsating on each wheel.


So when its dry and safe to do a 0-60 turn off your VDC. Put your foot firmly on the brake. Push the gas to 2k and let go of the Brake and shift ~500 rpm before redline You will see. Redlining wont hurt your car as there is a limiter but it will slow you down.

Disclaimer: Holding the brake and the gas at the same time heats up the transmission alot, try to hold the gas and brake as short as possible.

Also just wait a good amount of time before you try to do another launch. Launching over and over is bad and hard on your transmission.

When I go to the 1/4 mile track I wait 15-20 min between runs and I let the car run a bit so that it circulates ATF.

don't let off the accelerator when you shift.
