Locking Mechanism on Driver Door

Locking Mechanism on Driver Door
So, as many others of you on here, my keyhole cover on the driverside has fallen off. Luckily I watched it fall and still have it in my possession. I bought my car used and noticed that sometimes when I would open my door with my handle, the locking mechanism would pull out sometimes with the door handle.
I have attached a picture to let you know what I mean. Is this normal? Is there a fix for this?
Also, what is the best way to make sure the cover does not fall off anymore? Super glue?
Check out the pic and let me know what you think! thanks all

you know how theres a hook on one side of the piece and two prongs on the other ? the hook side will slide towards the door handle if the clips are broken or loose, making it fall off. I put superglue on the clip side where it makes contact and it held fine for a few weeks till the new one came

Same thing happened to me. I side the door there are tabs that hold it in place. They are broken most likely or somehow were popped out of place. Two fixes. Take the door panel off and reinsert te locking mechanism OR have the dealership install a new whole mechanism for you. I believe the price was around 200 for everything to look brand new.

your door around the lock looks bent like someone tried to break in. you should replace it but if your cheap then just pull the lock out a bit squirt silicone behind it, shove it in then put some more on the outside and shove the cover on then wipe off excess and put tape over it all to hold it in till it dries. and if ur too cheap for silicone theres always bubble gum
