i searched this one and i see there was a tsb on this which does me no good now and not much else. is there any fix for this besides a whole new navigation system?

it gets halfway up, stops, and goes back down... help please

 

That happends to me too sometmes. I think if you lightly press it back toward the dash on the top part of the nav as it is rising it will raise all the way up. Then it won't happen again for a while. Not sure on a permenant fix though

 

its the motor assembly.

 

the coupe, care to shed any specific details? I'll do a search for "navi motor assembly" tomorrow if its already covered and post here. This happens to me when the car is hot, esp in the summer. I apply light pressure to the top as it is rising, or lift it up. Also, it fixes itself sometimes if i press the up-down button on top a few times.

 

it almost seems that it was getting stuck on something which makes the temp fix seem logical... worked for now but the motor seems fine.

do you have to replace the whole unit to fix this? or will i be able to keep doin the temp fix lol?

i wonder if we can get the motor or motor harness replaced for free even if we're past 3 years of bumper to bumper warranty...Can I argue its a defect? (or part of my power train?! )

 

Mine sometimes goes all the way up and goes back down i just kind be like a spotter and hold it up while it goes up and it stays up. I haven't found a permanent fix but I can live with it.

 

i had the same problem for a while and it pissed me off..figured out there was something really small stuck in there. i still cant get it out but it doesn't bother it any more

 

ill get the pn for it tomorrow at work. think of it like a window motor when you hit auto up and it goes up then halfway back down (anti-pinch activated).

 

not to resurrect an old thread but the temporary fix has worn off. Did you ever get the part # or can you tell me what it should run to have repaired?

 

What temporary fix did you do that lasts a year and a half?

Mine does this. I just firmly press down the button on top for a second or two and it comes up nearly everytime. If I just tap it, it usually stops halfway up.

 

haha moving the screen back n forth till it found a position it liked. worked each way for a few months. now nothing works
