Get out of first and second gears as quickly as possible, and make it a habit.

This isn't meant to say mash the pedal or redline it.

Taking several extra seconds to get out of the big first/second gears will eat up more gas... even if you're keeping it at low rpms the whole time.

Ive been driving my G AT for almost 2 weeks now all city driving and I am getting 17 to 21 miles to a gallon...big difference on my old mitsubishi galant....lol

I cant complain...I already knew of the gas consumption..

I dont drive my car like crazy...only a couple of times to try out the quick acceleration and boy does the gas go quick...lol

I would assume with a moderate driving style it should be:

17-21 city
21 + highway..

correct me if i am wrong..

happy driving !!

I agree, these are sports cars compared to the civics. But even a civics gas milege drops when you get an (Si). The more performance is added into the equation will mean giving up a few mpg. When they start installing turbos, bigger injectors, ext, 40 mpg is out the window.

well and another thing that will help gas millage is just keeping your tire pressure correct.
also using any type of gas additive will give you better gas millage, but i have been using this stuff called XLP i have used it for a couple weeks now and so far have gotten almost 30% increase in gas mileage 17-22 in town and 23-28 highway. and that is with 112 thousand miles and a hks supercharger at only 5 lbs of bost. Message me back and i can get you info on how to get this stuff, i just get it from my roommate so i have to ask him.

Your exactly right, Tire pressure is very important. Also keeping your car tuned, changing the oil, using a good quality plug with the same heat range as the stock one, using a quality fuel ext. Just think? The new G37s have more horse power and are suppose to get better fuel economy than the G35s. Everything is trial and error, just find the right combination of parts and your gas milege will get alot better.
