Re: Simple fixes you must do

Wow-- sorry to hear that. I wonder why the wiper problem is an issue for some G's and not others.

Regarding the drilled pedals-- I think they look wickedly luxurious--in fact, they're now standard on the 2005s. Also, they'll basically last forever. I've worn through more than my share of rubber clutch pedals over the years.

Sorry but you could not pay me to put that carpet on my dash. Not sure who talked you in to that, but it gives me the shivers. Too each his own I guess, but not for me thats for sure.

Aw c'mon guys give him a break, he's just trying to be helpful. I wouldn't go for the dash cover either but to each his own.

How about some tassels to go around the interior trim of your roof?
Just joking. Gotta give ya a hard time for that one!
Thanks for the tips. I, too, must pass on the carpet dash, but the other ones seem cool.

Re: Simple fixes you must do

MrElussive-- if they didn't fix it correctly you should have them do it over again. There's no reason to 'tough it out'. And, it absolutely CAN be corrected--if most other Gs don't have this problem then yours shouldn't either unless your car is somehow unique (which I'm sure it isn't). Of all problems that a motorized vehicle could have, this is probably the least complex. There's a limited number of parts--wipers, arms, motor and windshield and their interaction with each other is extremely simple. Put your foot down and make them do it right.

BTW, the good natured ribbing about the dash cover is just making me laugh--no problem. The fuzzy dash is just a little sheep's clothing for a genuine wolf. LOL

2003 G35c DG/W, clear corners, z-tube, drilled pedals and maybe a Procharger one of these days. @7800 miles.

1). What specifically do they modify under the wiper TSB?

2). The carpet on dash really looks bad!

3). You can also fix the passeger seat belt rattle by using velcro to hold the buckle to the hanger post.

4). Thanks for the tip on the lubricant to fix the belt hanger rubbing on the top of the drivers seat - that is beginning to bug me so I'll try your fix immediately.

5). My newest rattle is the sun glasses holder; which vibrates - any suggestions?

Re: Simple fixes you must do

One of the techs at my dealership claimed that the motors for the 03-03.5 Gs placed the wipers at a slightly steeper angle than being perfectly parallel. The result was that the wipers had excess friction, causing the vibration. All the lube and wiper changes in the world wouldn't solve the problem... fixing it, however, makes the wipers FAR more effective. I used just Rainx at first, but once I got the TSB done, I realized I should've just done that in the first place.

As for the carpet dash... I live in Vegas. I see them ALL the time. Still, I would never, ever, ever in a million years and a million lifetimes consider it. Mostly because I don't see any glare, and I can't stand those things... but hey, chacun son tour (you didn't expect me to say 'to each his own' again, did you?).
