Buying a new G

Hey guys im new to the forums and pretty new to the whole car seen too. im 17 and currently drive an 04 ford expedition eddie bauer but im getting a new car soon because my parents and i do not enjoy the 12 mpg at all. im looking into getting an 04 6at or 6mt coupe. i think i can get around 10,000 for my car give or take but idk so much with todays economy. but back to the G.

given i have the choice, should i get a 6at or 6mt?
which would be more fun to drive?
better mpg?
better hp?
any other factors?

also, how much should i be expecting to pay on top of the 10,000 for a 06 either 6at or 6mt coupe?

thanks in advance

Welcome to DRIVER! The MT is more fun to drive but you'd better know how to operate a clutch! If not, the cost of operating your G35 will skyrocket. Infiniti clutches in the hands of Noobs won't last 5K miles! Better gas mileage, that all depends on how you drive. If you're ripping thru the gears and listening to the sweet sound of the exhaust you'll be lucky to match your Ford, G35s aren't considered low MPG rides. Looking for an '06 6MT or 5AT expect to pay another $5 to $8K depending on condition and mileage. Try to find the lowest mileage coupe with a clean past (CARFAX) and maintenance records, that's gotta be your goal....Good Luck!

thanks for all the info! i have driven clutch a couple times in my friends but nothing too much. by the time it comes time to buy one in 2 months or so i should be pretty good. my friend has an 05 mustang gt manual so i can always practice in there too because that would be more like the g35, at least i think. and im sure the first couple weeks of driving it ill be wishing i got the 12 mpg hahah but after that i plan on driving it normally.. at least most of the time.

im just ready to get one and let the modding begin! all of the threads about different mods and stuff is sick and is getting me pumped! thanks again!

Its a 5 speed automatic transmission btw. I would get 06+ for the g just because of the interior and exterior differences. Also what year is your car, I think 10k maybe a bit high.

oh sorry about that but i thought i read somewhere that someone said 6AT but i probably read it wrong

and yeah 10k is probably high, its an 04 and i could probably get 7.5-8k for i guess i was just hoping i could get 10k hahah

whats the advantages of an 06 over an 04 besides the fact that its newer?

how much would an 04 6MT or 5AT coupe cost around
and gary from what you said an 06 would be anywhere from 15-18k?
