Re: Bmw forums talking about G35/350Z
Now, you have to take into considoration that the 330i preformance package is going to cost you another what, 3 maybe 4 grand, just for another 10hp to 335BHP. Plus the better exhaust and some other goodies, but all they are doing is making the 330 a worse value than it already is. 40K+ just for a EPA compact car just doesn't cut it for me. DOnt get me, wrong, the 3 series is a great car in nearly al aspects, its just overpriced.

235, not 335. If it was 335, it'd outrun the M3.
I think it has 18" wheels and a 6-speed, too. (Of course, now the 6-speed is standard for all 3-series, so it's no longer a big deal....)

Yeah, I was gonna say, no way there's a stock 3-series out there producing 335 bhp. I know the G35C will outrun ANY stock 3-series, by a wide margin.
That was one of the considerations I kept in mind when comparing cars. Because I'd spent the last 18 years driving various different SUV's / trucks, I'd decided it was time to "go back to my roots" so to speak, and get something really fun, and something with a lot of oomph.
I know the BMW's are well built cars, and their styling is gorgeous - at least the coupes. To me, the 3-series sedan looks like an upscale Jetta.
But when you compare price, horsepower, features, and the looks of the cars, the G35C wins in a landslide. There simply isn't any real comparison!
On this, and other boards, people have talked about racing Hondas, Toyotas, and other Japanese pocket rockets, and finding that there's little challenge in it any more, but for me, there's nothing more enjoyable than taking on a German car - and showing them the fine view of my LED taillights as they leave 'em in the dust. :-)

Re: Bmw forums talking about G35/350Z
Actually, if you take price out of the equation and ignore the fact that the 3-series is a bit smaller (the G35 is more like a 5-series in size), then I think the 3-series is the better car. I almost bought one. A 330i may not flat out-run a G35, but the performance differences aren't that great. The 3-series has more creature comforts overall, as well as a better auto-manual transmission. In the end, it was price and interior room that finalized my decision.. it was a tough choice.
