styrofoam block
Re: styrofoam block
I left it there and I still had big performance gains. The bumber is REALLY easy to remove. 4 main screws hold the bumber on. Two above each side marker..The rest are easy..I left the piece there to give me piece of mind when it rained. That's just me though..
My best friend has a worked WRX and he used to run away from me, now we are very close and at high end(Fifth gear I walk him at 16.5lbs of boost..So I know that the intake gives power..

paintball, did you also easilly slide the filter in by removing the lower bumper panel?
It's time to clean the filter and I'm trying to think of the easiest way to get it out.

Re: styrofoam block
You need to remove it in order for performance to stay high when your engine gets hotbc other wise the intake cant get cold air

Re: styrofoam block
keep in mind.. it is more likely for water (car wash, or rain) to enter the filter and then KABOOM !! ur OUT ! keep the syrofoam in there.. i think in the long run.. 2-3HP difference should not come before needing a new tranny

LMAO! Dude, you'd practically need to submerge that filter into a can of H20 to get the uptake of water you mentioned. i.e. driving through flooded road that reach the filter. Otherwise, everytime it rained you suck H20 right into the engine. Not gonna happpen with just rain. Plus the oil on the filter not only protects from dirt but from H20 as well.....to some extent anyways.
