Ok my G sounds too ricey and was wondering if there's any other way to get rid of it other than taking off my straight pipes? I have a stillen intake, AMK headers, HKS clone exhaust straight pipes and kinetix SSV mani if that helps. My G sounds ricey around 3 K rpm and I don't like it too much. Any help is appreciated Thanks

Put a resonator in the straight pipes.
Can resonaters be welded in them cats though. I think my exhaus has resonaters already but don't work properly or something. How much would some thing like this cost any idea?? I'm sure an exhaust shop could do it probably??

By ricey do you mean loud/raspy? The Stillen intake doesn't contribute except allowing more cooler air into your Kinetix manifold. Your clone exhaust only looks like an HKS so that's one issue. By straight pipes are you running without cats? BERK'S HFCs will make your clone exhaust sound less ricey and remove the rasp you must be enjoying. Installing a Magnaflow X-Pipe would do a better job of mixing the exhaust pulses over the T-crossover in your clone exhaust....hope this helps!

Yea maybe ill do this I can just have it welded on to my exhuast. Actually the clone exhaust is made exactly like HKS and is also raspy. Only diffrence is the metal used between both exhausts.Originally Posted by LoSt180
Installing the Magnaflow X-pipe has good reviews on the board.

test pipes = straight pipes = no cats
HFC's should take care of the rasp.

That's not it smartass. I can almost guarantee he is talking about the rasp and that is easily solved with removing the test pipes for at least resonated ones. Also changing to the magnaflow x-pipe will help solve his problem.Originally Posted by Baliztik
Getting rid of the HKS clone is all you need to do. Get a real one and it'll sound a lot different.
Before you try to be a smartass go run unresonated test pipes on your REAL HKS and tell me how it sounds.

All I was saying is buying the real HKS system would solve his problems. He wouldn't have to alter it in any way and I believe he would get his desired result. Originally Posted by Xet

Off topic: I would argue that the HKS would sound better to.

Switch to HFC's and you should have a better sounding exhaust. If he switched to an authentic HKS, he'd have the same issue with the straight pipes.

Would you switch out to straight pipes if you bought the HKS system? What would the advantage be?Originally Posted by 1trueG

Most people won't run unresonated test pipes with any exhaust unless it is purely for track or they really just don't give a crap how it sounds. Resonated test pipes, high flow cats, and ART pipes are all more preferred to plain tp. Choosing which depends on budget, legality, and preference.Originally Posted by Baliztik

So basically it could be any exhaust and have unresonated tps and sound like ***.
