Rear Wheel Bearings After 47,000 Miles?

I am the original owner of my 04 G35 Coupe with 47,000 miles on it. I have Hankook Ventus V4 ES H105 17s on the rear with 14,000 miles on them. (They were quiet as a church mouse when new).I automatically assumed that after 12,000, the humming I heard that seems to be coming from the rear were the tires. It got progressively worse so that at 14,000 miles I replaced the Hankooks with the same tires again. Same noise is there. My only conclusion is the rear wheel bearings. Do they go bad after such low mileage? My car is all original and has not be lowered. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
PS...My front tires are RSAS with 6,000 miles on them and are not cupped and have always been quiet.

I've heard that the wheels bearing usually go bad around 60k ish. Maybe yours just went bad a little earlier. I replaced my right rear wheel bearing around 70k. It made a humming noise that you could hear when the windows would be rolled up and when my windows were down, it was a sort of crackling sound. Put your car up on a lift to see if the wheel moves when you try to move it with your hands. Also remember if there isn't any play that doesn't mean the wheel bearings are not bad.

Thanks Lone Wolf for the info. Luckily I have an extended warranty still good until May 2012. I'm bringing the car to Infiniti tomorrow and expect them to do whatever is necessary to get it right. Also, I am not accepting one wheel bearing replacement on the rear if only one is bad. That is total bull...t. We all know the other side will be going next.......when the warranty is over. It's too bad I purchased new tires when I still had 5-7,000 miles left on the old tires. I guess having crispy new tires can't hurt and I kept the old tires when these are shot. I just hope replacing the bearings is the issue. Do they have to pull the half axle out when replacing the bearings or just replace the bearing at the hub?

PS. We must also remember that there is a whole lot of torque on the rear wheels from the engines power which plays havoc on the bearings etc. The right rear seems to get the most wear. Have you ever noticed that the right rear tire always wears faster than the left rear?

I had a Nissan Dealer replace my wheel bearing. There is a DIY on here that you can search for. My rear tires have always worn at the same rate.

My front right bearing actually went bad at 30k. Replaced under warranty... It was strange how it went so soon, the wheels were never over-torqued and there's never been any collision tthere.

Oh well, all is good now..

When i 1st bought my G 04 with 100k it made a big whoom whoom noise at around 30-40 mph only. It was quiet thereafter. I thought it was the bearing also. When the car got lifted the 1st thing we noticed was the Tires and extensive camber wear. Ended up being all 4 tires. Replaced them and the noise was gone. Still everything was out of my pocket you are lucky to have the warranty still lol.

Dropped my car off at Infiniti on Friday and got a call from the advisor that I need 2 rear wheel bearings. That 4 year extended warranty was certainly worth the investment. I got the zero deductable as well. I'm still surprised that wheel bearings should be worn at 47,000 miles! What would the cost have been for replacing those 2 rear wheel bearings?
