Doing survey at Infiniti tommorow -need your input
I have an appointment with my dealer tommorow to look at those damn grease streaks, and while there, they asked me if i'm interested in being part of a survey for infiniti. supposedly something like 30-40 mins to report on any issues I have, so here is your chance. Post your issues, make them relevant, and dont repeat what others have said in this post please. So far this is what i'm going to ask / tell them about:
* crappy dipstick
* cooked right foot (i actually get this in my coupe sometimes)
* window smears
* paint chips
* awful gas mileage
* mid-year interior changes (i.e. center console)
* inability to upgrade to sattelite radio without paying more for harnesses, etc in early coupes
i also want to ask them about VDC and what the deal is with not being able to turn it off completely although i would imagine the answer will be "safety" or whatever.
If this thread is relevant enough, i will bring it in to show them as well.
Thanks.

I just checked the oil in my coupe for the first time today, and I could NOT believe what they call a dipstick! I can't even think what it'd be like to check the oil at night, you'd never get the damn thing back in!
Other than that, I have to admit I haven't had any problems with the car. Lots of people have talked about the greasy window thing, but it hasn't been a problem for me (yet). The switches for my heated seats are messed up (passenger side switch controls driver's side, driver's side switch doesn't control anything), but I suspect that's just some crossed wires unique to my car, not a recurring problem.
I haven't really kept track of my mileage, but I suspect I'm fairly close to EPA estimates - not so much worse that I'm concerned, especially the way I drive. Good luck with the survey, let us know how it goes!

Fiddler...good deal, 1700 miles on my 6mt. Concerns:
1) Grease: Driver window.
2) Dipstick: Difficult to work with.
3) Gas Milage / 91 Octane: 18mpg av, city
4) Air Filter: Difficult to change out by owner.
So far I'm doing good on the chip issue. The tranny shifter is smooth as silk.

1- How about, the autos do not have a dip stick for the tranny!
2- The way they apply and amount of paint they use on our "Gs".
3- Damn it Scotty I need more POWER NOW! Aye Aye Captain.
4- Telescoping Steering wheel column.
5- DRL in USA cars.
6- Better shift points in the automatics. Crisper/faster.

Conversation between me and my salesman:
"It doesn't have a telescoping steering wheel, does it?"
"No, it's not a $50,000 car."
"But it's competing against a $35-40,000 car that does have one."
