Oil Leakage on my 03 G35 Coupe

I have a 2003 Infiniti G35 Coupe (98000 miles). I got the oil changed at Midas around 96000 miles and the next one isn’t due until 99500 miles. This morning, while driving to work, I noticed a “engine oil pressure warning light” on my navigation system. (but did not pay much attention to the dashboard if the same light was lit or not. As soon as I saw this warning light, I parked the car.

After reading the manual and some posts in this forum, I understand it is not safe to even idle the car with this warning light. Out of curiosity, I checked the dip stick for oil level. To my surprise, the oil level is too low. So, I put in 2.5 Quarts of 5W30 and started the car . As it is idling, I don’t see the engine oil pressure warning light (No warning lights of any sort). But later when I got home, I noticed a big white spot in the parking lot of my home (This is where I parked the past two days over the weekend). This looks like oil to me and seems there is a big oil leakage. Could someone please help me what I can do with regard to this problem.

They may not have just tightened your oil drain plug enough. Human error cod be the cause.....hopefully

But my last oil change (@96000 miles) at MIDAS was 2000 miles back (almost 2 months now).
If the oil leakage through the drain plug is low, then I cant seem to explain why i see a big puddle of oil only this weekend and not in the past 2 months.

Your best bet is to get it looked at. Your first mistake was taking it to Midas, even for an oil change. When I was a lot younger I took my car to Tires Plus for an oil change and had the exact same issue as you(took the same milage or so) and made an appointment with the dealership. They called me 20 minutes later saying an idiot crossthreaded the plug or something like that and they fixed it. Could be a simple issue. Take it somewhere repuitible. Might cost more, but its worth it

Is it me or would a huge oil spot be dark, not white?

I dont think that's oil, I'm pretty sure someone has been masturbating on your driveway at night time

Definitely doesn't look like out to me...

But I would take the advice of not going to Midas or other similar places. You only hear horror stories about those places. My own personal experience is I have a lazy friend that always neglects to do proper maintenance and always goes to those places. They tightened instead of loosened the drain plug and ended up stripping the oil pan.

Last night I left the car without driving. In the morning, I noticed two small spots of oil. Attached is the link for the pic. Since I put 2.5 quarts of oil already (the dipstick level is between low and High), I am driving around with the car (But am paying close attention to the dashboard for any signs of Engine Oil Pressure Warning Light). I am planning to check the dipstick oil level every morning in the next few days to see how long it is taking for the oil level to drop below the "Low" mark on the dipstick. For safe side, I am carrying along with me couple of oil bottles. Do you guys think I need to get the Oil Pressure or Oil Consumption checked with the dealer before things get worse ?

Yeah it sounds like its definitely a leak... Not consumption. Just take it to a shop you trust (Infiniti kind of sucks)
