Should I get this Mod on my G? Is is worth it? Any of u done it?

I know someone selling a brand new Infiniti g35 Fast intension high flow cats. He is asking for 400. Is that a good price? Also how much of a difference is power and In sound am I looking at? Would it be a deeper sound?
Right now I'm running a Y-pipe Back Fuji Exhaust, this Exhaust keeps a bit of the stock sound just a bit deeper and a little louder.
Do you guys think with the g35 Fast intension high flow cats the sound would be much louder to where I'll get pulled over?

They go for $500 on their website. Not sure what our vendors here would sell them for. Maybe you should check on that first to see if you could save a few bucks. It will definitely intensify the sound but as far as getting pulled over, I dunno. Guess that depends where you live and how strict they are.

Im in Cali.. Probably the worst place to have Modded Cars.

I have headers also not installed yet, if I put on the HFC then most likely I'll end up not installing the headers bc the sound will be just too loud.
If you had to pick between Headers or HFC which one would you pick? Which one would add more power?

go HFC i think the gains on headers for the VQ are real low like 5whp i think. I read that the cat it the real choke point on the exhaust for our cars.

headers wont make your car sound louder. nor will it gain u noticable power. if youre looking for sound, hfc would be better and 10x easier to instal then headers. if u want power, hfc will gain a few hp. i added straight pipes to my greddy exhaust and took them off the next day cuz there was no difference in power and it sounded like @$$

I had my fast intentions high flow cats for over a year with no problems, they sound really good not too loud, but I don't think you will pass smog in Cali with high flow cats.

headers will benefit a RevUp a lot more, for non-rev you'll need cams to really get you're monies worth though.

The shops here in NorCal would not install my FI HFC, because they said they are not street legal in Cali. I guess they do pass smog, I wonder why wouldn't install them for me, oh well Me and Rusty ended up installing them in his garage.

most places are fine w/them as long as your OEM cats have gone bad or your car is over 8yrs old

The OE cats is where most of the restriction is in our exhaust systems, adding HFCs or ART pipes really improves sound and performance. Make sure you keep your OE cats just in case you need them to pass smog. Funny members keep ragging on CA., but we're still having meets, can the rest of you say that?

In no way am I ragging on Cali.. I love Cali and would never want to move. Just saying in Cali we pretty much get pulled over for just abt anything from loud Exhaust to Tinted windows, to even white side marker lights. But I'll rather deal with that then be in another state
And I never knew we have meets here in Cali. That's Sick, I would be down. Could you give me some more info plz?
