Even covering it with a sun shade won't stop it from drying out and cracking. You need to take more preventative measures than that. Putting a sun shade up is like saying, "I run a California car duster over my car every now and then," and then never bothering to wash or wax the paint.

Check this place out and see if they have a location near you. You don't need to replace the dash. Or at least you shouldn't just for a crack in it. Check their before and after shots and see for yourself that it can be repaired. Just need to find a good interior restoration place first

Can use your help, I've contacted Channel 9 news, they're taking it on. Maybe we can get these recalled by Nissan. It's happening with the M's and Fx's also.

Plese contact me, reasley@cfl.rr.com. I have contacted channel 9 news and they are coming to my house to see the cracks and get my story. The more people I can give them their contact info. will help us get restitution from Nissan. Nissan offered me 25% replacement refund. That's still $1400. out of my pocket thru no fault of my own.

Cracked dash
I too have a cracked dash in my 2006 Infiniti G35 Coupe. This crack was spontaneous and has been growing.
I spoke with Infiniti Consumer Affairs and they declined to replace the dash. I explained to them that this is a known issue and that they have issued an extended warranty to FX owners who were complaining of the cracked/bubbled dashboards. The rep told me that the extended warranty for the FX owners was on a "case-by-case" basis and that in my "case" they were declining to fix it.The rep also told me that the decision was final and that I could create an official complaint with the Better Business Bureau's Auto Line. When I asked to speak with someone else who had more authority, he stated that there was no one else I could speak to about this matter and reiterated that the decision was final.
I am in the process of forming the complaint with the Better Business Bureau's Auto Line.
Here is a link to their website if anyone else has had a similar problem with their dash.

Finally, I agree that if there are enough of us out there who have had problems with our dashboards cracking, we should form a class action suit against Infiniti. IMO, its pretty ridiculous that a $40,000 car is manufactured with a dash that is predisposed to cracking/bubbling.
