Crack in dashboard

Anyone else have issues with cracks in dash? Found this crack in my 07 AT. After searching around it seems like cracks in dash are rare for g35. Only thing I could find were issues with dash on FX35 model. I also have slight "bubbles/warps" on the passenger side of dashboard. Under certain lighting you can clearly see the "bubbling/warping", and you can feel the "bubbles" if you run your hand over the dash. I purchased the car in May 2011 and did not notice it until a couple months ago. Only time my car sees direct sunlight is when I'm parked at work.

I don't have this problem and I have never heard of others having this issue. Maybe the previous owner(s) took apart the dash and wasn't to careful and fuked it up.

I'm not sure if you can see the warps. It looks like between the warps is where the airbag is located. Does anyone have any idea why those 2 warps would be there where the airbag is? Thanks in advance. Ive searched around and nobody else has had this issue but maybe someone has insight about what might have caused this.

Seems to be somewhat common...I've heard from a few people who have had similar problems and I myself have a couple very small cracks. I dabbed some RTV on them just so they wouldn't spread. Not sure if that would work or look good on a larger crack though. Haven't heard of any other solutions for the problem. You could probably remove the dash and recover it in suede or vinyl or something like that....but removing the dash is a major PITA and I'm sure would cost a fortune.

After driving S13s for as long as I have and seeing their cracked dashes (probably the most common cosmetic problem with those cars) these are quite minor.

Haven't ever seen a good fix for this issue, although I haven't spent a large sum of time looking for one either.

Better to have that kind of crack in your dashboard than the kind that 'Messicans' smuggle into the country via hidden compartments in the dashboard.

A few questions for everyone with this problem:

Do y'all use any kind of UV protectant cleaner on the dash surface?
Do you smoke in the vehicle?
Have you ever treated the dash with Armor All?

Cracks in the dash result from the soft-touch material drying out and stretching. It's the same as when leather dries out. UV damage will cause this, as will Armor All. Armor All is silicon-based, and will dry the fabric out over time.

My G coupe is an '04. PO used 303 Aerospace Protectant on the dash, and I've been using Meguiar's protectant with Scotchgard in it. No issues here.

I always cover my dash with windshield cover so the sun doesn't hit the dash. I know the sun causes the dash to crack over many years.
